【本報訊】鄉議局主席劉皇發打算在極具保育價值的元朗白泥興建121幢低密度豪宅及高爾夫球度假村，引起社會極大迴響，城規會收到71份來自各界的公眾意見書，一致反對該項工程。

收71份意見書

71份意見書大部份是在本月2日截止前夕送抵城規會，包括原居民、一般市民及環保團體，大部份擔心工程會破壞附近珍貴的自然生態。
提交意見書的嘉道理農場認為，有關工程計劃的環評不全面，只調查區內雀鳥及蝴蝶，未有提及魚類。世界自然基金會認為，該工程跟上白泥及下白泥的分區計劃大綱圖的要求不符，未足以規限區內的城市發展。
原居民鄧先生指，有關工程未得部份村民同意，村民擔心會破壞賴以為生的農地，豪宅落成後也會令區內交通負荷激增。一直住在白泥的中一學生劉皓晴指政府經常宣傳愛護大自然，但該工程與宣傳訊息完全相反。
